As mentor, Shawn Brown adds his perspective on why he emphasis the reading and writing skill to the young men who participate in the Diamond Educators program.

PIC and Youthworks, WCVB Channel 5 features the work of Shawn Brown and three students he placed in jobs at Alleyne Property Management. Two of the students attend Community Academy, and one attends Boston Day and Evening Academy. The coverage is from Governor Deval Patrick's May 13 press conference on Youthworks, a state source of student wages administered by the Commonwealth Corporation. The students featured in this clip are participants in the Diamond Edcuators mentoring program.
